February 24, 2014

I should be having a baptism this coming week... I showed up to church and one of my and Elder Dalton’s old investigators was sitting there and he told us that he wanted to make changes in his life and that some of his friends had told him he should be baptized. We asked him to be baptized next week and he said he would.... now we just need to make sure he remembers everything.

I am hoping that I will get to come back to have Brother Pack as a home teacher. I don’t think that Austin will be around; from the sound of it he is getting ready to go on his mission. It really is a good thing to just jump in to, the transition between home and mission is something but, once you pass the hump it is not so bad.

Elder Dalton's companion is named Elder Reed. He can kind of speak Spanish but not a lot of it from what I have been told. We still keep in touch which is nice. I got to talk to him today when we hiked Pinnacle Mountain. ... (Not really a mountain but a large hill) Elder Dalton said they are working hard getting the new area going. Alfredo is still a boss. I really wish that I could convey just an ounce of what kind of person he is. He is the teacher in the Elders quorum now and he has been doing a dang good job. I told him that if I ever get the chance that I am going to go see him when he is back in Mexico. We sent a book of Mormon to his wife and kids in Mexico. I just hope the missionaries in Mexico can teach her she really wants to hear the word and I would do anything to try to pay back what Alfredo has done for us. He is the best.

One of the people that I found in Memphis and tried super hard working with him to get to baptism and since I am not in Memphis any more I have been praying for him to want to get baptized, I think got dunked yesterday, that was great news

Love y’all

I am doing well. We will have to be on bikes for the next two weeks because the car is in the shop. We are on a 1 car 3 companion’s car share. But I am very glad the PM elders have a car right now but are losing it soon but I hope they will get a new one.
Thanks for the letter. It was a really good pickup on a hard day. Happy day that ya’ll got married. Hope it was a good one with the dogs.
Work is very different now Elder Robles (my new companion) wants to work very differently than how Elder Dalton did. Elder Dalton has moved up into Conway just north of us opening a new area. He called today and talked to me and Sister Goudie it is a hard area not very many Hispanics and very spaced out.
Sisters baptized again someone that we gave them named Oscar. He has been investigating for a long time he is 14 and his mom is less active and lives very far away. She was part of the North Little Rock branch before it was closed.
Over all sad that Sister Howton, Elder Dalton and Elder Jardine are gone but we got some new people so I hope that it is all good Sister Peterson and Elder Nelson seem cool.
Love ya mom,
Tell everyone that I say hi, and give Brother Bean a hello from me

Howton is going Goudie is staying. I am staying Dalton is going. They may be making a new Spanish elders area in Conway just north of us.
Elder Jardin is leaving too, so it will basically be a new group in the area.

We got hit hard by snow Friday...... it was a long night to say the least. Little rock does not do well with snow. Thank goodness we had a car during that time. Started teaching a cool family from Veracruz and we are going back this week to talk again. Alfredo is still a boss and still comes out with us all the time. Doing well and hope ya’ll are enjoying the snow.

February 3, 2013

My schedule is the same every day.... wake up, work out, study, teach, plan, and sleep. I had to help move the sisters they are going to get some more sisters moving in with them so they got changed to a new apartment just a few down.  Elder Dalton and my apartment still smells like pot and is very small but I am kind of use to it. No complaints. I am teaching the mom of a less active member and her brother. We have been trying to find her daughter so the Sisters can teach her because of a dream that Elder Dalton had when he fell asleep in study.

I have had to give a lot of blessings the past few weeks with the flu going around.

I eat pot pies and frozen food chicken nuggets that I make into wraps with the tortillas that I have. I have some potatoes and Alfredo gave us a bag of oranges.
We finally got one of the family’s that some of the sisters offended before I came to feed us again.... they are not going to until the end of the month. We have the Foster’s feeding us every other week which is really nice. Sometimes we go to “Loves” which is a catfish place here in Little Rock and the guy that is there loves us he always gives us free coconut shrimp.

I am still teaching a lot of the same people just trying to find someone that will progress, but we have hit a slow spill. Many of the people that we are finding are not super interested in the message.

Elder Perry came to Memphis and so we got to watch him speak to the ward counsels. I just got to watch a video feed but it was still cool. He was very energetic and we also had many other general authorities there. the president of the 70’s was there and Elder Rasband, it was cool it was mostly because we just got a new stake in AR and so they are trying to expand the work of the members in the area.

Elder Perry also said how the clock in the Walnut grove building is in a dumb place and told us a story of how one of the cardinals of the Catholic Church thinks he has to go see the Pope.

We also help teach an English class up in North Little Rock about once a week
